What does a broken down tractor trailer filled with broccoli have to do with Trinity’s turn at Bread of Life?

So earlier this past week a tractor trailer filled with broccoli broke down in from of the Presbyterian Church I go to. I was at a music rehearsal when I found out about his event and discoverd that our church took a pallet and a half of the broccoli being given away buy the driver of the truck. I guess it was all going to go bad if he did not find a home for it. Anyway I was in the process of deciding what to make for our guests at the Bread of Life ministry on Saturday when I thought it should include brocolli! When God gives you free brocolli you should make good use of it! So we make broccoli cheddar soup and a large tray of broccoli with pasta made with a garlic butter and olive oil sauce.

At Bread of Life we had a few games that included bags of broccoli as prizes. In fact everyone one went home with free bags of broccoli! We then brought 40+ bags of broccoli to the nursing home next to Bread of Life and the kitchen staff was very happy to receive our gifts.

You never know how God is going to bless us from day to day. In this case it was a blessing easily shared with the community. We give thanks and praise for the opportunity to share His love with our guests at Bread of Life!

We encourage you to find a way to help those less fortunate in your community with the gifts God has blessed you with !
