Trinity Staff Serving at Bread of Life Soup Kitchen in August

Ok so last month the staff of Trinity Reservations made hot chicken sandwiches with lettus & Mayo and french fries. It was a smaller group due to a verterans picnic happening over the same time period that was also serving free food. We always pray before each meal and I ask for prayer requests to include.  Our guests are not shy about wanting prayer which is such a blessing! Let me say that we firmly believe that it is best to serve with out asking our guests to listen to a message or scripture before giving them food. We just want to be activly showing God's love to others by more of what we do than what we say. In this case however I was compelled by the spirit to ask if anyone could tell me what the Gospel message was or what it meant. You should know that this is a Christian ministry supported by local churches. No one was able to articulate this although some tried. I gave a very simple version of this to everyone before praying and serving our lunch. Our guests were thankful for this information as many wanted to know but were afraid or embarrassed to ask. It was a learning experience for me as well. I guess I assumed many already knew from their semi regular church experience.  God continues to pour his grace over this Christian Soup Kichen ministry and we are all blessed along the way!

We encourage you to find a way to join a local community group that reaches out to serve those who are less fortunate. You will be a blessing to others and in turn will be blessed!
