Easily Explore: Chicago
The city of the week is….. Chicago!!! Guess what? Trinity Reservations also offers park stay and fly packages at the Chicago O'Hare airport area. Unfortunately at this time we are not partnering with any Midway airport hotels. There is a lot to see in Chicago, why not take some extra time to explore!
In the Chicago area Trinity Reservations currently offers packages at the Crowne Plaza and Best Western Rosemont IL, and the Country Inn & Suites Mt. Prospect IL. You guessed it- all three of these hotels run free shuttle daily to and from the Chicago O'Hare airport! The Best Western and the Country Inn offer a complementary hot breakfast buffet each morning. Breakfast is available at the Crowne Plaza at an additional cost because it is a full service hotel. That also means that the Crowne Plaza has a restaurant and bar on property. Up to 14 days of parking is included at each hotel through Trinity's package!
There is a theme here with the first three cities I have talked about… they are all located right near water! Chicago though is a bit different, not being right on the ocean. That said some of the "things to do" are very similar to the other destinations. Chicago has the Shedd Aquarium, and the Navy Pier. There are these great art installations located across the city- one of the most famous and one of my favorites is the "Bean". It's a large metal object shaped like a bean and it reflects everyone's image and is really cool! Take a tour of Willis Tower and ride the elevator to the top to see some wonderful views! For the sports fan Chicago's Wrigley Field is a must see, it is one of the oldest baseball stadiums and is uniquely different from any other stadium. Additionally there are plenty of museums to explore!
To get to these attractions from the airport area public transportation is once again the way to go! Chicago's train system is called the CTA. The "L" train is the official nickname for the CTA train system and it stops at both Chicago airports, O'Hare and Midway, and goes right into downtown Chicago! How easy is that! All you have to do is take your hotel's shuttle to the airport and hop on the L's blue line towards Chicago. The cost for riding the L is $2.25 per person one way, $4.50 round trip… and $0.75 for a student- $1.50 round trip. A CTA 1 day pass is $10 per person, this allows you to get on and off any CTA train/ bus as many times as you would like throughout the day. Another option is the "L train fair from O'Hare" which is $5- this is only for the train, not any busses, throughout the day.
Chose the hotel that is best for you, check out some of the downtown Chicago attractions, and enjoy your trip!
