Winter Travel Made Easy!

Colder weather has finally arrived. With the cold comes snow and ice delays. Here’s how to be prepared for your flight or your cruise.

First, book early. The winter months (particularly January and February) are off-peak for cruises, which means prices can be lower compared to peak summer months. Booking early can help you secure the best cabin and pricing. Winter holiday periods (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s) can also lead to higher numbers of travelers in airports, so expect longer lines at check-in, security, and gate areas, especially around peak travel days. The post-holiday period (early January) can also see many people returning from vacations, so plan accordingly.

Second, reserve your parking, overnight stay and ride to your cruise port or flight with Trinity Reservations. We will make sure that the extra traffic with weather conditions and more people traveling are no extra stress to you. Arrive to the area early, where you’ll get safe, guarded (and also covered for some packages) parking spaces for long term parking, a hotel room for the night with breakfast and a flexible ride to where you need to go. All that will cost less than parking near the airport!

Third, be flexible. Things can change with the weather in an instant. Download apps from your airline or a flight tracker app like FlightRadar24, FlightAware, or FlightStats to get up-to-the-minute updates about delays, cancellations, and gate changes. Many airlines will also send push notifications about your flight status, which is helpful if you’re on the go. Check your airline’s winter policies. For example, some airlines have more flexible policies during the winter season when weather delays or cancellations are expected. If your flight is delayed by more than a certain amount of time, they may provide accommodations or meals, or allow you to rebook without additional fees. Many cruise lines offer their own insurance policies, which can cover things like trip interruption, missed ports, and onboard medical expenses. At Trinity Reservations, we know that sometimes things like this can happen. Our flexible cancellation policy and top notch customer service is here to help. You can cancel up to 12 noon EST the day before and we can rebook you to the new time!
