Over the years we have learned much about travel from our many clients all over the world. Many of these lessons come from issues they experienced or someone they travel with have experienced. So every now and again we like to dust them off and share them with our audience to aid in lessons learned and prevent issues that can deminish the vacation we have worked so hard for.
Here are some common sense suggestions that apply as much today as they have in the past. If your parking your car and leaving it for more than a day, it is always best to look for an open spot near or under a light post and in an area with higher foot traffic. This will make your vehicle less desireable to would be theives. This will also make you safer if you are getting into your car at night! It is always a good idea to make copies of your travel itinerary, including your pass ports and other documents and leave them with a friend or relative at home. I think the reasons for this is obvious. It is always best to refrain from posting about your vacation while you are away unless you have someone living at home who is keeping an eye on things. Some folks feel strongly about this even if you have someone living at home. Keep your travel documents and money with you at all times. Many find a zip tight document sleeve attached to a landyard around your neck and tucked inside of your clothing to be the best place for such items. Your asking for trouble if you find that your back pocket , pouch in a fanny pack or back pack to be your preferred location for these documents.
In general try to be aware of your surroundings while you are traveling. Enjoy your self but if for some reason something seems off or you see something that is out of the ordinary, say something to the local authorities.
We hope these suggestions help to make your next trip a little more safe and enjoyable.
