We all love to explore new places and make new memories with those we love the most. Sometimes even with the best intentions and plans, things happen. With having kids traveling with you (especially young ones), predictability is something that can make your flight or cruise easier.
Here are a few tips that we know will make for less chaos and more calm.
1. Start planing early to reduce last minute stress. It’s good to have packing lists, visual schedules, and countdown calendars. Start talking about what to expect early.
2. Pack busy bags. It’s good to have things on hand like snacks, tabletop activities or toys for things to do. Headphones could come in handy to get a break from loud airports and cruise ships.
3. Know where the best locations for quiet are. Airports and cruise ships can be overstimulating if your kid prefers quiet. Plan the best places in your surroundings to do that.
4. Have a pre-flight and pre-cruise hotel booked through Trinity Reservations. We will cut out the early hours to get to your destination commute for you. We have locations all over to help you get a good night’s rest. A lot of our hotels have indoor pools or things nearby to do as well as a hot breakfast that’s kid friendly.
5. Set realistic expectations for everyone. Traveling with a toddler or even just kids in general can be magical but also overwhelming. Give yourself (and them) some grace at every chance you can. Look for the glimmers of things that make you smile throughout your day. You’ve got this.
